UCYILDIZ ARMS IND. CO. Ltd was founded by İrfan AKDAL in May 2003. However, history of Ucyildiz Arms traces back to 1943. Akdal family started their activities in the arms sector at that year by fabricating shotgun parts in a small workshop in Üzümlü village of Konya. As one of the members of the family, who has had many achievements for long years, İrfan AKDAL blazed many trails in the Turkish arms sector with arms produced in armories he founded under different names. Among these trails there is the production of first automatic Shotgun andPump Action Shotgun in Turkey in 1992. Mr. Akdal has manufactured various models of shotguns for a variety of countries - primarily for the USA - and made great contributions to the development of the Turkish arms industry by providing significant support for local arms manufacturers of Anatolia for modern arms manufacturing technologies and materials.
Upon foundation, Ucyildiz Arms initiated production of sound and gas arms known as blank firing gun in our country, and launched in the market more than 70 models with different types and covering. Still holding the leadership despite a large number of companies founded in domestic market after it, Ucyildiz Arms has started receiving substantial demands from abroad with its quality and different product options. Having succeeded in this field in a short time, the company made significant economic contributions to our country by almost ending importation of blank firing gun.
Ucyildiz Arms has attended the most important international arms fairs throughout the world every year since its foundation. As a result, exporting to more than 50 countries of the world, it managed to have a voice in blank firing gun market among the leading countries of arms sector such as Germany and Italy.
As a reflection of supreme quality of blank firing guns produced by Ucyildiz Arms, and the prestige it obtained, demands from existing international customers for arms production have increased; therefore, Ucyildiz Arms board of directors decided to develop unique and modern domestic arms. For that purpose, the company requested facility security and production permission from Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Defense at the beginning of 2005, and formally initiated production on 28.09.2007 upon completion of required transactions.
Today, in personal defense arms and military arms classes, Ucyildiz Arms manufactures Akdal TR-01 model firing 9x19 mm parabellum. Moreover, in close personal defense and derringer for secret bearing classes it manufactures Akdal Mini 03 and Akdal Mini 06 models while Akdal F92 arms model of simple and cheap arms class for defense is only manufactured for export.
Ucyildiz Arms performs production in its factory equipped with modern devices and equipment in a closed area of 5000 m2 near IMES industrial zone in İstanbul-Ümraniye. Having an annual production capacity of 100.000 arms with 128 employees in total, the factory has already reached this capacity for the year 2008 in terms of annual sales. |
